The icon of Gabriel

The main church of the monastic republic of Athos is located in the administrative center of Athos, Karyes, and is called Protaton (very first). On the iconostasis in this church is a so-called worship row (deesis row), where from left to right Michael, Peter, Mother of God, Christ, John the Baptist, Gabriel and Paul are depicted. Gabriel dates from 1542, and was painted by Zorzis most experts say, but I dare say the faces were painted by his teacher, the brilliant Theophanes, who was on Athos at this time. He painted according to the Cretan school (1450 - 1650).

The above picture is a detail of the icon I made of it, and it is worth telling that the face is 2 cm high.
